April’s monthly Supplemental Security Income payment, worth up to $943 for individual filers, will go out to millions of beneficiaries in less than three weeks.
The next installment will go out in 18 days, on Monday, April 1, to people who struggle with a serious debilitating disability that results in a limited income, according to the Social Security Administration.
To qualify for the SSI payments, a person needs to be at least partially blind or have a “physical or mental condition(s) that seriously limits their daily activities for a period of 12 months or more, or may be expected to result in death.”
People who live with those who receive SSI payments to provide them with necessary care can also qualify for a smaller monthly disbursement as an “essential person.”
