NEW YORK — Former President Donald Trump revealed during a rally in the Bronx on Thursday that one of his conditions for debating President Joe Biden next month will be that they stand up.
Trump told a crowd of several thousand supporters at the event that he was asked to agree to a seated format for the CNN debate, scheduled for June 27.
“Today they said, ‘We’d like to set up tables so you sit down.’ I said, ‘I don’t want to sit down for a debate. Let’s go,’” Trump said. “So we’re not sitting down. We’re gonna be standing up for the debate.”
Trump’s remark comes after the presumptive Republican nominee said one day prior during a radio interview that he expected the pair to be sitting for the debate despite his desire to stand.
