New York deli to sell ‘the NYPD’ sandwich to raise funds for Jonathan Diller’s family

A deli in New York has unveiled a new sandwich to honor slain New York Police Department officer Jonathan Diller, with a portion of the proceeds being given to Diller’s family.

The new sandwich from Mario’s Meat Market and Gourmet Deli, located in the borough of Queens, has been named “The NYPD” and consists of chicken, prosciutto, mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, and arugula drizzled with balsamic glaze. “Officer Diller’s murder gave me the chills,” deli owner Joe DiGangi said. “It hit me. I have two young boys. I couldn’t imagine not being at their hockey game.”
