Social Security update: April’s direct payment worth $943 goes out in five days

April’s monthly Supplemental Security Income payment, which is worth up to $943 for individual filers, will go out to millions of beneficiaries in five days.

The next installment will go out on Monday, April 1, to people who struggle with a serious debilitating disability that results in a limited income, according to the Social Security Administration

The maximum amount each filer can get varies, depending on the category they applied for the payment under. People who live with SSI recipients to provide them with necessary care qualify for a smaller monthly disbursement as an “essential person.” 

Individual filers can receive up to $943 each month, people who filed as a couple can receive up to $1,415 a month, and essential persons get up to $472 each month, according to the SSA. These amounts are
