Biden jokes he sometimes wishes he was ‘cognitively impaired’

President Joe Biden cracked a joke about wishing sometimes that he was “cognitively impaired” following his State of the Union address on Thursday night.

As Biden made his way through the House chamber after delivering his remarks, he spoke with several members of Congress. Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) remarked that “nobody’s going to talk about cognitively impaired now,” referring to Biden’s energy throughout the more than hourlong speech.

“I kind of wish sometimes I was cognitively impaired,” Biden jokingly replied.

Biden’s third State of the Union address, but his fourth address to a joint session of Congress, included several off-the-cuff moments and interactions with hecklers as the president attempted to dispel notions of cognitive decline.
