Porter ignores billionaires who helped her and complains about megadonors who propped up her opponents

After a Super Tuesday loss to Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) suggested Schiff’s campaign spent millions of dollars donated by billionaires fueling lies to get a Republican opponent on the general election ticket. 

“Our opponents threw everything — every trick, millions of dollars, every trick in the playbook — to knock us off our feet. But I’m still standing in high heels,” Porter said in her concession speech. 

Porter also received millions of dollars for her campaign despite claiming she did not receive money from corporate political action committees. According to Open Secrets, Porter received $32,000 from Apple and Google. Porter received $58,000 from the Universities of California San Francisco and Irvine. She also received $600,000 from lawyers and law firms.

Overall, Porter raised $28 million in her campaign for Senate compared to Schiff’s $31 million.
