Republican J.R. Majewski ended his House campaign for Ohio’s 9th Congressional District on Saturday.
The news follows a comment he made during an episode of the podcast Trifecta Hour that aired last month. The candidate said arguing with Democratic social media users online was “like being in the Special Olympics.”
“No matter how good you perform, you’re still a f***ing retard,” Majewski said.
Majewski was a little less than a year into his campaign, which followed a failed attempt in the same district in 2022. That year, he had the endorsement of former President Donald Trump, who won the 9th District in 2020.
