Stimulus update: Applications for rebate payment worth up to $318 open in one day

In one day, low-income residents in Boulder, Colorado, will be able to apply for a food tax rebate given out by the city.

The program has been in place since 1967 and seeks to “lessen the financial burden on lower-income community members for city sales tax paid on food items,” per city officials. Applications will be open from Friday through June 30.

For 2024, individual residents approved for the rebate will get $104, and qualified families will get $318. Both figures are increases from the amounts in 2023.

Those eligible for the rebate in Boulder include those who have a disability, were 62 or older, or are a family with children under 18 for the entirety of 2023. Other requirements for applicants include confirmation of residency in Boulder for the entirety of the year, along with specific financial requirements.
