Talk show host Phil McGraw, better known as Dr. Phil, has joined the growing number of people to speak out against gender transition surgeries for children, criticizing the medical industry for doing such surgeries amid a lack of evidence that shows they help the children.
McGraw said he found it “interesting” how many people in the medical industry refer to gender surgeries for children as “gender-affirming care” when such a term is actually referring to “hormonal therapy or sexual reassignment surgery.” He also criticized how all the major medical associations have “signed off on this.”
“And I have never seen those organizations sign off on anything with less information as to whether or not it does long-term harm of anything in my life,” McGraw said in a guest appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience.
