American Airlines announced Tuesday that it is increasing its checked bag fee.
Previously, the airlines charged customers $30 as their checked bag fee, but now the airlines will charge either $35 for those who pay a checked bag fee online or $40 for those who pay in person. It marks the first time since 2018 that the brand has adjusted its checked bag fee, the airlines announced in a press release.
Other adjustments made to its pricing include a second checked bag fee of $45 for flights going within and between the United States, the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico, which is an increase from the previous amount of $40.
