Gaetz revels in centrist GOP departures from House: ‘Send me more backup’

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) celebrated the group of House GOP members not running for reelection, calling for fewer Republicans like former House Speakers Paul Ryan and Kevin McCarthy.

Gaetz commented on a CNN article discussing the retirements of prominent Republicans, including Reps. Ken Buck (R-CO), Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), and Mike Gallagher (R-WI). He said his forcing them out is “wonderful” in a post on X on Monday.
