Special counsel Robert Hur is set to testify in front of a House Republican panel on President Joe Biden’s mental acuity.
Though he recommended no charges against Biden over his mishandling of classified documents, Hur’s damning analysis of the president’s mental acuity sent shock waves through the political world, including a harsh rebuke from Biden’s team. House Republicans are now eagerly eyeing a chance to grill Hur on his analysis, a Republican aide told Axios.
Hur is in talks to appear before a panel sometime in March, according to the aide.
Democrats and the White House have slammed Hur’s report as a partisan attack by a Republican official. The picture Hur painted of Biden as an “elderly man with a poor memory” has been attacked as “gratuitous.”
