Cory Booker says he won’t trust Supreme Court ‘to secure our rights’ if Trump wins election

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) stated he would not trust the Supreme Court to secure the people’s rights should former President Donald Trump win in November.

Booker specifically criticized judges who were appointed by Trump during his presidency, including Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett. The senator said the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade even though “the majority of Americans” supported it.

“The majority of Americans believe that we should have access to IVF,” Booker said in an appearance on CBS’s Late Show with Stephen Colbert. “I do not trust these Trump-appointed judges. The last time, he got in there and packed our courts with extreme right-wing folks. I do not trust them to secure our rights. Congress must act.”
