Peter Navarro has ‘no regrets’ making history as first White House official jailed for contempt

Peter Navarro, former White House adviser to former President Donald Trump, said he is not seeking a pardon and has no regrets about the actions that landed him in prison. 

Navarro made history as the first White House official to be jailed for contempt after he refused to answer questions before the House panel investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection. He has been loyal to Trump since. 

“I will not give the Supreme Court any excuse to duck what is otherwise a landmark constitutional case regarding the separation of powers and executive privilege,” Navarro told the Wall Street Journal from federal prison.

“I have no regrets,” Navarro said. “I didn’t choose this fight, this fight chose me.”

Trump also said he would “absolutely” bring Navarro back to the White House under a possible second Trump term.
