Israeli ambassador shreds UN charter in protest of Palestinian state vote

Gilad Erdan, Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, showed his displeasure with the body’s vote on new Palestinian privileges and a path to statehood in a unique way.

At the end of his speech, in which he denounced the U.N.’s advance of “the establishment of a Palestinian terror state,” Erdan held up a portable paper shredder and fed papers representing the U.N. charter through the whining contraption. He accused members of shredding the charter themselves.
