Eric Adams heads to Italy to discuss climate change and asylum-seekers with pope

New York City Mayor Eric Adams left for Italy on Friday ahead of a planned meeting with Pope Francis.

The mayor posted a video from the airplane’s runway wearing a New York Knicks hat and a sweatshirt from Brooklyn’s youth basketball league.

“I’m traveling to Rome because the solutions to the problems facing our city, country and planet must be solved together — by sharing ideas and strategies,” Adams said. “Through hard work and faith, there is nothing we can’t accomplish.”
