The Maryland Democratic primary is closing in, and Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks isn’t pulling any punches on rival Rep. David Trone (D-MD).
In an interview with WTOP, Alsobrooks continued her recurring attack on Trone that he and his business have donated to “radical Republicans” who support “anti-choice” policies.
Alsobrooks cited Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) and Gov. Brian Kemp (R-GA) as anti-abortion politicians Trone has donated to. According to a 2016 Washington Post article, Trone donated more than $150,000, mostly to Republicans, in states where his business, Total Wine & More, operates.
EMILY’s List, an organization dedicated to electing Democratic women who support abortion access, said last year that Trone donated nearly $500,000 to “anti-choice” Republicans.
