Actor Brian Cox dismissed the idea of religion, criticizing the Bible as “propaganda.”
Cox, best known for playing Logan Roy on HBO’s Succession, discussed how he believes religion is holding back humanity while appearing on the Starting Line Podcast. He suggested religion was created as “a control issue,” adding that humanity ought to embrace a more matriarchal leadership. Cox said religious beliefs make people resistant to matriarchy, referencing how the Bible states that God created Eve from Adam in the book of Genesis.
“The propaganda goes right the way back. The Bible is one of the worst books ever, for me, from my point of view because it starts with the idea that Adam’s rib, this woman was created, and they’ll believe it cause they’re stupid enough,” Cox said.
