Vice President Kamala Harris joined talk show host Drew Barrymore for an interview that aired Monday, focusing in length on Harris’s relationship with her husband, second gentleman Doug Emhoff, and their children.
Harris, who was campaigning in person Monday in Atlanta, frequently jokes that her stepchildren affectionately refer to her as “Momala,” a nickname Barrymore picked up in the taped interview.
“I keep thinking in my head that we all need a mom,” Barrymore said, sitting practically knee-to-knee with the vice president. “I’ve been thinking that we really all need a tremendous hug in the world right now. But in our country, we need you to be Momala of the country.”
