Fox News’s The Five’s ratings top NBA playoffs viewership

Fox News’s The Five notched the top viewership spot among cable networks last week, even while the NBA playoffs got underway.

During the week ending April 21, Fox News drew the most prime-time and total day viewers, according to Nielsen data shared with the Washington Examiner.

Both ESPN and TNT aired the first round of the NBA playoffs last week, with ESPN drawing an average audience of 3.16 million viewers across three broadcasts and TNT garnering an average audience of 2.95 million viewers over two broadcasts. 

Meanwhile, The Five drew an average audience of 3.16 million viewers across four broadcasts. 

When comparing its viewership to other cable news shows, The Five also took the top spot in the 5 p.m. Eastern time slot, going up against MSNBC’s Deadline: White House, which held an average of 1.8 million total viewers, and
