Wes Moore dismisses claims DEI was to blame for Baltimore bridge collapse: ‘No time for foolishness’

Gov. Wes Moore (D-MD) will not comment on false claims that diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives were at fault in the Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapse in Baltimore last week. 

On CNN’s State of the Union with Dana Bash, Wes Moore said he has more important things to focus on in the wake of the bridge collapse than clear up rumors that the collapse was based on policies that encourage workplace diversity. When asked what his response was to Republicans who have claimed the bridge collapse was based on DEI, he said, “My response is I have no time for foolishness.” 

“I have no time for foolishness. I’m locked in,” Moore said. 

He listed his priorities for Maryland as governor following the Key Bridge collapse.
