Go blue: Democrats blitz Michigan enthusiasm as Biden falls to Trump in the polls

Democrats are planning to open 30 new offices across Michigan to bolster support for the party and President Joe Biden’s campaign for reelection in the crucial swing state. 

According to the Detroit News, the offices should open by mid-April and will serve as organizing hubs for volunteers. 

Lavora Barnes, chairwoman of the Michigan Democratic Party, said Democrats learned from the mistakes of 2016 in Hillary Clinton’s shocking loss to former President Donald Trump. She said they are organizing early in preparation.

“When a race is as close as we had it in 2016 and 2020, the ground game is the difference,” Barnes said.

Biden won Michigan in 2020 by 3 points, but the race was much closer in 2016 with Trump beating Clinton only by around 10,000 votes.
