Stimulus update: Direct payment worth $1,312 to be sent to some Alaska residents today

Some residents who have yet to receive their payments from the Alaska Department of Revenue as part of the Permanent Fund Dividend will receive their checks today.

Those with the “Eligible-Not Paid” status as of March 13 who had not received their checks from the state program from 2023 or earlier will get their payment on Thursday, according to the state. Those who have already received their PFD payments for last year or earlier will not get another check on Thursday.

The Permanent Fund Dividend sends out checks each year, determined by Alaska’s annual mineral revenues. In 2023, the payment from the program was worth $1,312 per resident, with distribution for that check beginning in October of last year.

“The 2023 PFD marks the 42nd year Alaskans have received their share of the state’s natural resource wealth,” Alaska Department of Revenue Commissioner Adam Crum said in a statement about
