NASA’s Hubble telescope captures image of the ‘Spider Galaxy’

NASA released an image captured by the Hubble Space Telescope of the “Spider Galaxy” millions of light-years away from Earth.

The galaxy, UGC 5829, received its nickname from the space agency because of its distinct features.

Also known as UGC 5829, the galaxy in this #HubbleFriday image is about 30 million light-years away from us.

Maybe it got its nickname from its distorted galactic arms with glowing, star-forming tips!

“Despite the lack of observations of this relatively faint galaxy, UGC 5829 has a distinct and descriptive name: the Spider Galaxy. Perhaps its distorted galactic arms with their glowing, star-forming tips hint at the clawed legs of an arachnid,” NASA said in a blog post
