Slotkin leads close race with Republican challenger for Michigan Senate

Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) holds a slight edge over former Republican Rep. Mike Rogers in a tight race for Michigan‘s Senate seat, according to a new poll. 

In a hypothetical faceoff between Slotkin and Rogers, 41% of Michigan voters supported Slotkin, 39% backed Rogers, and 20% were undecided, according to an Emerson College Polling/Hill survey released Thursday. 

Rogers, who served seven terms in the House before retiring in 2015, has garnered former President Donald Trump‘s endorsement and the support of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. On the Democratic side, Slotkin, who has outraised her opponents, is expected to win. 

The survey, conducted among 1,000 Michigan voters, found that other GOP rivals in the race, such as Sandy Pensler, a businessman, attracted 37% support to Slotkin’s 42% in a hypothetical matchup, with 21% undecided.
