Social Security update: April’s direct payment worth $943 goes out in 12 days

The next Supplemental Security Income payment, which marks April’s payment and is worth up to $943 for individual filers, will go out to millions of beneficiaries in a little under two weeks.

The next installment will go out 12 days from now, on Monday, April 1, to people who struggle with a serious debilitating disability that results in a limited income, according to the Social Security Administration

In order to qualify for the SSI payments, a person needs to be at least partially blind or have a “physical or mental condition(s) that seriously limits their daily activities for a period of 12 months or more, or may be expected to result in death.”

The maximum amount each filer can get depends on the category under which they applied for the payment.
