Ken Buck removed from House Freedom Caucus days before retirement from lower chamber

The House Freedom Caucus has reportedly removed one of its members from the hard-line Republican group, just days before the lawmaker is set to retire from Congress.

The caucus voted Tuesday night to remove Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO), according to the Hill. The group decided to oust him over claims that the Colorado Republican has not been in “good standing” with the caucus and has not regularly attended its meetings in months, the outlet reported.

Buck confirmed his ouster to Politico on Wednesday, saying he was informed of the decision the night before. A representative for Buck declined to confirm the Colorado Republican’s removal to the Washington Examiner.
