New live-action Popeye movie in development from The Sopranos writer

Popeye the Sailor Man is setting sails for the big screen because a live-action movie starring the character is currently in development.

The film will mark the second time the iconic muscular sailor will flex his talent on the big screen in this form, with the new film being released by Chernin Entertainment and King Features. Michael Caleo, whose writing credits include HBO’s The Sopranos, is working as the film’s screenwriter, according to a report.
