Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) claimed there’s been “a barrage of threatening messages” against her since her interview with ABC This Week host George Stephanopolous where the anchor “rape shamed” her.
“Last night, I received a serious threat, and the individual is now in custody. Our family wants to thank law enforcement for acting quickly,” Mace wrote on X. “This individual threatened to rape me, then kill me, and murder members of my family.”
Stephanopoulos asked Mace last Sunday how she could endorse former President Donald Trump, even as a rape victim when Trump had been found “liable for rape.” Mace was raped at the age of 16, which she had previously addressed publicly.
