Super Tuesday: What times do polls close in 16 states holding primary elections?

Voters in 16 states will head to the polls on Super Tuesday to cast their ballot for their choice for presidential, congressional, and state leaders as the 2024 election revs up.

Eyes will be on Colorado and Maine, two states that launched efforts to kick former President Donald Trump off the Republican primary ballot either through a state office or the judicial system but were thwarted Monday by a Supreme Court ruling. Alabama and North Carolina will be voting with new congressional district maps thanks to redistricting, with some longtime Republican territories pushing into Democratic hands and vice versa.

About a third of delegates are up for grabs: 854 delegates for Republicans and 1,420 for Democrats. There are 16 Democratic presidential contests and 15 Republican contests.
