Maryland’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will conclude the distribution of its March payments in 18 days.
Roughly 13% of Maryland’s population, roughly 772,700 people, relies on food stamps. The amount received varies depending on income and the size of the household, but the average amount is $180.
Food stamps are distributed in the state from March 4 to March 23, with the first three letters of a recipient’s household’s last name determining the specific distribution date.

Single-person households can receive a maximum of $291, while an eight-person household can receive a maximum of $1,751. Larger households can receive $219 for each additional person.
