The estate of the late musician Sinead O’Connor has asked former President Donald Trump to stop using her music, specifically the song “Nothing Compares 2 U,” at his campaign rallies.
The former president had used “Nothing Compares 2 U” as one of several songs ahead of a speech he gave at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference on Feb. 24. O’Connor’s estate, in a joint statement with Chrysalis Records, stated it was “an outrage” to learn that Trump was using the song at his campaign rallies, as “Nothing Compares 2 U” is the song O’Connor is most known for.
“It is no exaggeration to say that Sinead would have been disgusted, hurt, and insulted to have her work misrepresented in this way by someone who she herself referred to as a ‘biblical devil,’” the statement
