Former President Donald Trump said during a campaign rally Saturday that he mixes up Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Republican primary opponent Nikki Haley on purpose “‘cause they’re interchangeable in my mind.”
Speaking to supporters in Richmond, Virginia, the front-runner for the GOP presidential nomination claimed that he has to be careful about what he says because of how the media cover him.
“When I say, ‘Barack Hussein Obama, the president of our country,’ on the news that night, they go, ‘Donald Trump didn’t know the name of our president,’” Trump said. “‘He said it was President Obama. It’s President [Joe] Biden.’ So I have to be very, very careful.”
Trump then discussed another pair he has mixed up before, Pelosi and Haley, referring to the latter as “Birdbrain.”
