Social Security update: April’s direct payment worth $943 goes out in 31 days

The next monthly Supplemental Security Income payment, worth up to $943 for individual filers, will go out to millions of beneficiaries in just over four weeks.

April’s monthly installment will go out in 31 days, on April 1, to people who have a serious debilitating disability and limited income, according to the Social Security Administration.

In order to qualify for the SSI payments, a person needs to be at least partially blind or have a “physical or mental condition(s) that seriously limits their daily activities for a period of 12 months or more, or may be expected to result in death.”
