An Illinois judge has removed former President Donald Trump from the state’s ballot.
Citing the 14th Amendment’s “insurrectionist ban” and relying on the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision as precedent, Cook County Circuit Judge Tracie Porter ruled that Trump was ineligible for office and could not appear on the state’s ballot.
However, the decision is paused, allowing Trump to appeal the decision.
Porter’s decision comes one month after a similar challenge was dismissed by the Illinois State Board of Elections in a unanimous bipartisan vote.

Illinois is now the third state where Trump has been taken off the ballot, alongside Colorado and Maine.
