Seattle ranked as the least religious metro area in the US

Seattle, Washington, tops a new poll of the least religious cities in the nation.

Almost two-thirds of people living in the Emerald City identify as non-religious.

The exact percentage of those who are non-religious is 63.8%, making up 1.98 million adults out of the 3.1 million residents. Of these 1.98 million, they either never go to church or other religious services, or go less than once a year, according to data compiled by the Household Pulse Survey.

Other major cities making the list include San Francisco and Boston, which had 62.7% and 55.9%, respectively, of its population who say they don’t participate in faith-based activities.
