Greg Abbott slams Biden’s possible border executive actions

Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) continued to disagree with President Joe Biden‘s proposed methods to deal with the border crisis.

Abbott appeared on State of the Union on Sunday to respond to the news that the Biden administration is considering using Section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act to stop providing asylum to those who illegally cross the border. The Texas governor disagreed with the proposal, saying it didn’t go far enough.

“The president is not using his executive authority to do any of those things that Congress has already authorized,” Abbott said. “The president does not need new laws. The president needs a backbone to make sure that he enforces the immigration laws that are already on the books.”
