WWE transport slowed down by pirates at Suez Canal

“Elimination Chamber,” World Wrestling Entertainment’s upcoming event in Australia, hit a snag in the Suez Canal that delayed the arrival of its ring setup by a month.

“Originally it was supposed to ship through the Suez Canal, but pirates ended those plans,” WWE commentator Michael Cole explained to fans in Perth, Australia. “So it was sent to Miami, transported via truck to Los Angeles, taken by ship to Sydney, and then by train to Perth.”

WWE did not respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment.

The involved pirates are presumably the Yemen-based Iranian Houthi rebels that have recently launched missiles at ships
