Former Capitol Police officer Harry Dunn received endorsements from two members of the Jan. 6 committee ahead of his congressional bid.
Reps. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Bennie Thompson (D-MS) have announced they are backing Dunn after serving on the committee that once heard Dunn’s testimony about the riots. Schiff claimed that “Harry Dunn defended my life on January 6th.” Thompson agreed, saying Dunn “did his job and defended my colleagues regardless of their party affiliation.”
Dunn also received endorsements from Reps. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) and Jasmine Crockett (D-TX). This comes after Dunn received $2.75 million from ActBlue, a grassroots donation site, which was the most of any candidate running for the House or Senate.
