RFK Jr spending more than he’s raising as campaign faces new test

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s independent presidential campaign spent more money than it raised in January, presenting new challengers for the long-shot candidate.

According to a report filed by Kennedy’s campaign to the Federal Election Commission, reviewed by Politico, his campaign spent over $3.2 million in January, compared to roughly $2.7 million brought in. This left him at the end of the month with about $4.8 million in his war chest.

The largest share of the spending was on safety, something Kennedy has leveled criticism against the Biden administration for not providing to him. Being the son of Robert F. Kennedy, the target of one of the 20th century’s most infamous assassinations, Kennedy Jr. has openly expressed concern that he could suffer the same fate.
