One person was killed and five were wounded in a shooting at an Indianapolis, Indiana, Waffle House on Monday, according to police statements.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officers were dispatched to a Waffle House location in the southwestern corner of the city at approximately 12:30 am on Monday morning following the report of a person being shot.
Police Capt. Don Weilhammer told local news outlet Fox59 that the incident started as an altercation inside and outside of the restaurant between two groups of people.
When officers arrived a the scene, five people had gunshot injuries. Police say a sixth victim arrived at the IU Health Methodist Hospital shortly after the incident, having either driven himself or having had another person drive him to the hospital.
