Republican presidential contender Nikki Haley bashed former President Donald Trump for his apparent silence following the death of Russian dissident Alexei Navalny.
Navalny, a chief critic of Russian leader Vladimir Putin, was announced dead earlier this week. Many have presumed that the 47-year-old opposition leader’s death was an assassination at the hands of the Putin regime. Haley on Sunday lambasted Trump for not speaking out in the wake of Navalny’s demise.
“It’s actually pretty amazing … the fact that he won’t acknowledge anything with Navalny,” the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations said on ABC’s This Week. “Either he sides with Putin and thinks it’s cool that Putin killed one of his political opponents, or he just doesn’t think it’s that big of a deal.”
