House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) floated reusing the impeachment process against a replacement for Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
Green was one of the biggest voices pushing the impeachment of Mayorkas, arguing that the process was legitimate in light of alleged constitutional violations by the Department of Homeland Security secretary. When asked by Politico if he is concerned about who could replace Mayorkas, Green responded by threatening the same process.
“Of course I am, but if that person doesn’t do his job well, we will impeach his a**, too,” he said.
