Florida Mom Charged in Newborn Death Had Casey Anthony Images on Phone

A 20-year-old Florida woman facing murder charges in her infant daughter's death allegedly kept digital images of Casey Anthony on her phone, authorities said this week.

Anne Mae Demegillo was arrested March 6 and indicted Monday on first-degree premeditated murder, aggravated child abuse, and failing to report a death while attempting to conceal or alter evidence, according to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators noted the presence of Anthony-related content on Demegillo's device, which they characterized as evidence of "searches on the death of a child and subsequent investigation."

The discovery carries particular resonance in Florida legal circles. Anthony, an Orlando mother, was charged in 2008 with murdering her own child but was acquitted at trial. Her case became a national media phenomenon and continues to generate public attention years later.

Prosecutors did not provide additional details about the specific nature or context of the Anthony images on Demegillo's phone, or what investigators believe they indicate about her state of mind.
