Nintendo Switch Online subscribers now have access to three additional retro games through the service's NES catalog, with the arcade legend Pac-Man headlining the April additions.
Players can download Pac-Man, Mendel Palace, and The Tower of Druaga directly through the Nintendo Classics NES app. All three titles are immediately available to active subscribers.
Pac-Man needs little explanation. The 1980s arcade sensation remains mechanically straightforward: navigate mazes, consume pellets, dodge ghosts, and grab power-ups to reverse the dynamic and chase your pursuers instead. Collecting fruit scattered throughout levels adds an extra layer of risk-versus-reward strategy.
Mendel Palace offers a different flavor entirely. Originally released in 1989, this puzzle game emerged from an early Game Freak, the small development team that would later become famous for creating Pokémon. The gameplay revolves around flipping panels to eliminate enemies and trigger special effects, making it a considerably more minimalist experience than what Game Freak would eventually achieve.
