Soldier's Wife Released After ICE Detention at Military Base

Annie Ramos, the wife of a U.S. soldier, has been released from federal custody following her detention by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents at a Louisiana military base last week.

Ramos arrived in the United States from Honduras as a toddler and has lived in the country since childhood. In a statement after her release on Tuesday, she expressed her desire to remain in the nation where she has spent most of her life.

"All I have ever wanted is to live with dignity in the country I have called home since I was a baby," Ramos said.

The detention raised questions about ICE operations on military installations and the circumstances surrounding her apprehension. The case drew attention to immigration enforcement actions affecting family members of active-duty service members.
