Marvel's Avengers: Armageddon Launches With Exclusive Magic: The Gathering Card Bundle

Marvel's Avengers: Armageddon Launches With Exclusive Magic: The Gathering Card Bundle

Marvel is sweetening the deal for readers of its upcoming Avengers: Armageddon crossover event by bundling an exclusive Magic: The Gathering card with every copy of the first issue.

The card, titled "Warstorm Surge," features artwork by Ryan Stegman, the artist behind Marvel's King in Black series. The illustration depicts Wolverine, Iron Man, and Spider-Man engaging Red Hulk in combat amid the devastated landscape of Latveria.

The card will accompany all editions of Avengers: Armageddon #1, whether buyers grab the standard cover or one of the variant covers available at launch. Marvel is not releasing the card separately, making it available only through the comic itself.

Avengers: Armageddon #1 arrives in comic shops on June 3, 2026, just weeks before the June 26 debut of the Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes set. The timing aligns the comic event with Magic's broader Marvel crossover initiative.

A Story With Major Consequences

Marvel is positioning Armageddon as a watershed moment for the publisher. The crossover centers on Red Hulk's rampage across the globe, which will require an unprecedented assembly of heroes to contain. The event will bring together the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Wolverine, and additional characters to confront the threat.

Marvel's official description emphasizes the story's significance, suggesting it will fundamentally reshape the Avengers franchise. "There will be a pre-Armageddon Marvel Universe and a post-Armageddon Marvel Universe," the publisher stated, drawing comparisons to 2004's Avengers: Disassembled in terms of lasting impact.

The event is written by Chip Zdarsky, known for his work on Captain America, with artwork by Frank Alpizar and Delio Diaz.

Readers interested in following the story can preorder Avengers: Armageddon #1 through their local comic shop now.
