Vance Dominates CPAC Straw Poll as GOP's Frontrunner for Future Presidential Race

Vice President JD Vance has emerged as the overwhelming favorite among conservative activists to lead the Republican Party in a future presidential contest, according to results from this year's Conservative Political Action Conference.

Data released Saturday from the prominent CPAC gathering, held in Texas, revealed that Vance captured the support of approximately 53 percent of the roughly 1,600 attendees who participated in the straw poll. The showing represents a commanding lead among the assembled conservative delegates at one of the nation's most influential right-wing political forums.

State Department head Marco Rubio finished in a distant second place, garnering 35 percent support from poll respondents, according to reporting by Reuters.

The CPAC survey provides an early indication of which figures within Republican circles are gaining traction with the party's base of dedicated activists and donors as speculation continues regarding potential future White House contenders.
