Harris tells South Carolina voters to ‘believe’ Trump will be a dictator on ‘day one’

ORANGEBURG, SOUTH CAROLINA — Vice President Kamala Harris delivered a biting denouncement of former President Donald Trump during a “Get Out The Vote” rally at South Carolina State University Friday, marking the final event for the Biden-Harris campaign ahead of Saturday’s “First in the Nation” primary.

The choice to have Harris close out South Carolina is especially notable, given the premium the campaign has placed on the Palmetto State as a case study to push back on narratives concerning President Joe Biden’s age and a perceived slide in support among minorities, black voters in particular, heading into the 2024 general election.

Harris was joined Friday by SCSU alumnus Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC), Democratic National Committee Chairman Jaime Harrison, and a host of other Biden campaign surrogates.
