Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO), a prominent member of “the Squad,” is reportedly under investigation by the Justice Department for allegedly misusing government funds that were meant for personal security.
The grand jury subpoena was delivered to the House of Representatives on Monday, although the document did not specify who the subpoena was for or what charges were being investigated. It was later reported the subpoena was issued to Bush for the alleged misuse of federal security money, according to Punchbowl News.
Democratic leaders declined to comment when pressed for details on Tuesday, with Democratic Caucus Chairman Pete Aguilar (D-CA) telling reporters that information would need to come from the Justice Department. The DOJ declined to comment to the Washington Examiner when asked for a statement on Monday.
